Military Surplus 1911 - Only US citizens can purchase one of these World War II combat pistols, the M1911, from the US Army inventory. And only one can be purchased per year by a qualified buyer.

The 1911 is one of the most sought after popular pistol models in the country. The legendary pistol went into service more than a century ago and was used in the First World War. Most of the stockpiled historical weapons were produced before 1945.

President Trump will soon sign a bill that makes a limited number of these M1911s available to the military for sale to American civilians.

For several decades, these excess stocks of US military weapons were hidden in storage away from the public.

What 1911s are in the boxes? It's an exciting mystery. The exact guns won't be revealed until the crates open soon.

From Colt to Springfield Armory, the M1911 has been produced by a number of American gun manufacturers. There will also be a full spectrum, from brand new pistols to those with visible battle scars.

This is a special opportunity to own a famous gun with a unique story behind every dent and scratch. You could buy a 1911 used by a brave American soldier at the front.

The Army will make these superior handguns available through the government-sanctioned Civilian Marksman Program, or CMP. The release will be limited to just a few thousand in 2018. Your best chance of getting one is to be prepared and ready to act.

All you need is President Trump's signature, the bill is signed, and pistols will be released — that's your cue to jump into the fray and try to grab one. Go to the CMP website and join the launch event.

Once CMP has received 10,000 orders, the names of potential buyers will be uploaded to a "random number generator" and each person will be assigned a number.

This pistol was used by the US military for about 75 years. The M1911 variant is still of the US Marine Corps.

In 1911, the American army chose the M1911 as the standard weapon for the armed forces. The iconic single-action, semi-automatic weapon remained the official weapon until 1986, when it was replaced by the Beretta M9. It is chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge and magazine.

There could also be pistols from Remington Rand, Springfield Armory, Ithaca, UMC, Union Switch & Signal, and North American.

All guns will not be in the same condition. There will most likely be some in pristine condition - but this is also a special occasion to celebrate a 1911 with the character that accompanies a brave American soldier in his service and sacrifice for our country.

There will be very high demand for the sale over the next two years, competing for a very limited number of 16,000 to 20,000 units.
